Enough

Uchechukwu Onyedikam

Not enough sadness

to paint the night blue from dark

as the moon shades her

Not enough silence

to still the tongue that breaks trust

that reeks of venom

Not enough money

to cash her beauty to an

object of pleasure.

Not enough word to heal &

make miracle from the silence

of true acquaintance

Arms not stretched enough to

embrace the rose in the dark

to make home in your heart

…share enough strange smiles across

the streets to that peasant man

digging himself out
